At the invitation of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Romania and of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, a delegation of the Centre for Promotion of Intercultural Dialogue will attend the concert of the famous song and dance ensemble of A. V. Alexandrov dedicated to celebration of 70 years from the Victory in the Second World War , which will take place at the Radio Hall, on 12 September.

At the invitation of Universal Peace Federation, Mr. Mihai Valentin Vladimirescu, President of the Centre for Promotion of Intercultural Dialogue will attend 3rd World Summit on “Peace, Security and Human Development” to be convened on August 27-31, 2015 in Seoul, Korea. The primary co-sponsor for the World Summit 2015 is the Sunhak Peace Prize Committee. Among the supporting partner organizations are the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, the Washington Times Foundation, the Women’s Federation for World Peace, and the Segye Times.

The European Economic and Social Committee launched the 2015 Civil Society Prize for combating poverty. This year the prize will reward initiatives that aim to improve economic and social inclusion among people living in poverty, or that tackle the increasing risk of poverty in Europe. Civil society organisations and/or individuals who have carried out initiatives which aim to combat poverty are invited to enter this contest. The deadline for submitting applications has been extended until 10 September 2015.

The prize has a total value of 50 000 € and will be awarded on 10 December 2015

Strasbourg, 18-20 November 2015

The fourth edition of the World Forum for Democracy, to take place in Strasbourg on 18-20 November 2015, will be dedicated to the theme ‘Freedom vs control: For a democratic response’. For the first time, the Forum will not only showcase already existing initiatives, but also innovative, untested ideas to maintain and develop democracy’s basic principles in times of increasing security threats. The World Forum for Democracy will engage decision-makers, opinion leaders and social innovators in a debate about the approaches to be adopted at the international, national, regional and local levels in order to ensure the protection of freedom in democracy facing violence and extremism.Over 1500 participants from a wide range of backgrounds – politicians, academics, activists, media and business professionals from around the world – will attend the Forum and connect live to many others via the internet.

The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and Fondazione CRT are organizing an 8-day training which will bring together 20 young people from the Euro-Mediterranean region to enhance the skills needed to boost a business idea with a social mission, and be a powerful motor of economic development and social inclusion. In addition to this training, the selected 20 young adults will receive feedback from peers, mentoring from experienced social entrepreneurs and will be matched with potential investors. The event will be organized at Fondazione CRT premises in Torino (Italy) from 18 to 25 October 2015.
